Onitsha Rally: APC Has No Adopted Son In Anambra, Says Tinubu

Before an astonishing but expected crowd of over a million  All Progressives Congress, APC, supporters, the Leader of the party and Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, told them in a mega rally put together by the Anambra state chapter at the All Saints Anglican Church Cathedral field in Onitsha, Friday evening, that the party had no adopted son in Anambra.

Rather, he blessed them, assuming that they were neither abandoned nor left to walk alone, as Anambra would soon be connected to the centre of Nigerian politics.
Tinub,u represented by the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio simply prayed and blessed the sea of supporters at the arena.
They had defied the afternoon rain in Onitsha, Anambra’s commercial hub to stand firm in support of Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, and Senator Mrs Iyom Uche Ekwunife, the party’s candidates in the November 8 governorship elections in the state.

“The rain was a message of blessings. Without it, we would have thought something was wrong.
“Nothing will happen to you. You will go out there and vote, and you will be victorious.
“The message I am bringing to you from the centre is that you will not walk alone. You will live to remember. You will not be disgraced.  Peace be with you”, he prayed.
Tinubu said that the APC, contrary to the claims of some people, had no adopted son in Anambra.

“An adopted son is not the same as a biological son. We have a son in Anambra who is Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu. We have come to present him to you. We have come to present the next Governor of Anambra state to you “, he said.

“The Igbo have been walking alone since the end of the civil war in 1970. The Igbo henceforth shall walk to the centre of Nigerian government so that the letters of the three Rs proclaimed after the civil war would be accomplished.
“It is our collective desire and hopefully too that there shall be Reconciliation, Reconstruction and Rehabilitation of Igboland and connect them to the centre. We can’t continue to talk about the lack of federal roads and bridges in the Southeast.

“Things have to change, and I have come to tell you as a prophet that you all shall no longer walk alone”, he said, adding that if Anambra is prepared to go to the centre, then Igboland is complete.
The APC administration, he said, had that Akpabio’s chairmanship of the National Assembly created the South East Development Commission as part of the efforts to rebuild Igboland.
“We are coming from the centre to add value to what you are doing. . I have nothing further to say than to say, Welcome to the centre,” he said.
The Party’s National Chairman, Prof..Nentawe Yilwatda, who spoke immediately after Akpabio, was even more emphatic in their message to the opposition and to the people of the state, stressing that they had come to renew hope to the people of the South East.
He said he had come on behalf of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party as a messenger of hope that change is possible in Anambra state and that only eight days are remaining to uproot APGA out of the way.

“We have only 196 hours from now for APGA to end its reign, only 196 hours APGA is gone. In 8 days there will, there will be no Governor in Nigeria that will beat the tag APGA again.
“Anambra is known for its industrious business people. But these days, businesses are dying because of insecurity, and the youth are not getting any help.
” We need insecurity fixed, schools fixed and the people given hope. We are in Anambra today with the hope that in just 8 days, the state will be better.
“Anambra is so important in Igbo land and country that it won’t be left in the hands of the opposition. We now have 25 Governors, and by Saturday, November 8, Anambra will be 26.
” Roll up your sleeves to ensure that you stand by your votes. We are ready to defend you.

“If anybody is claiming that he is an adopted son in APC, he is lying. We have only one son, and he is Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, “Ikukuoma” Ndi Anambra. If you are not APC,  you are not. There is no counterfeit. I urge you to use the broom to sweep away the ghost APGA”, he said.
The APC candidate in the November 8, governorship elections in Anambra state, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, who spoke after the National Chairman of the party called on his teeming supporters to be brave and go to the polling booths on November 8 and vote for APC  to form its next government in the state.
” When you do so, we are going to win and win again in 2027. We will fix the broken Anambra state without partnering with anybody. You should be ready to sweep them out completely.
“The fowl is dead. The umbrella is torn irretrievably, and it is our duty to use our broom to sweep away their carcasses “, he said.
Earlier, the state party chairman, Chief Basil Ejidik, had said that they were on course to win the November 8 governorship election in the state because they had worked hard to deserve victory.

The party, he said, had gone to every nook and cranny of the state in the course of its campaign, spreading the message of hope to an utterly despondent and disillusioned citizens who had been weighed down by the menace of insecurity, excessive and excruciating multiple taxation, a useless and rudderless government and extreme loss of hope in government and governance.
He said that these anti-people policies of the APGA administration in the state made their job easier by 50% because the people saw in them the credible alternative they had yearned for over the years.
Imo state Governor and Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, who also spoke, Chief Hope Uzodimma, went philosophical.
“You can tell the blind that there is no oil in the soup, but you can’t tell him that the soup is not salted enough.  If he cannot see the oil, at least he can test the soup”, he said.
He told the mammoth crowd who hailed him as the star of the rising Imo and alert Governor to remember that APC is a party of peace.

“APC is not a party known for violence. There will be a free and fair election. Nobody will stop you from exercising your franchise. Do not fear. Go out there and vote.
“We are here to protect democracy. Your votes must count. APC is a large democratic party in Africa. There will be enough security to protect citizens and voters from harassment. Vote for the largest party in Africa. Do not fear”, he said.
