Osogbo Local Government Reaffirms Commitment to Grassroots Governance, Party Unity After Supreme Court Verdict


Osogbo Local Government has held a strategic meeting with its management and political team at the council secretariat to mark the recent Supreme Court verdict, which the leadership described as a major boost for democracy and grassroots governance.


In his opening remarks, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Onibonokuta Saheed Mufutau, expressed appreciation to the judiciary for what he described as its steadfast commitment to the sanctity of justice, noting that the ruling had restored power and confidence to the people at the grassroots level. He urged members of the council to remain united, focused, and committed to effective service delivery.


Hon. Akeem Ademola Olaniyan, commended councillors across the wards for their resilience and loyalty to the party, describing their efforts as instrumental in strengthening the party’s presence at the local level and beyond.







Similarly, the Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman, Virtue Akeem Yusuff, pledged the council’s full resolve to support and work tirelessly to ensure the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in all forthcoming elections.


Also speaking, the Executive Assistant to the Chairman on Political Matters, Hon. Adetoye Muthoir Olarewaju Akere, charged executive members to immediately intensify mobilisation efforts in line with the direction of party leaders, stressing the importance of sustained grassroots engagement.


In their separate remarks, Hon. Bolanle Jimoh, Hon. Tunde Riro, and other stakeholders urged the management team to work closely with community leaders, Baales, market men and women, and youth groups, emphasising that collective effort remains key to achieving lasting progress.


The council leadership reaffirmed its readiness to work as a united front and to support the party’s candidates, irrespective of who eventually emerges as the flagbearer.
