Hon. Francis Eniade Damilare, frontline APC chieftain from Ifelodun, Boripe and Odo-Otin Federal Constituency, has described today’s Supreme Court judgement as a “resounding defeat for impunity” and a “historic validation of the people’s mandate brutally suppressed since 2022.”
In a sweeping and definitive verdict, the Supreme Court affirmed the constitutional autonomy of Local Governments in Osun State, just as the Apex court reprimanded the Osun State Attorney General for lacking the locus standi to drag the Federal Government to court on a matter clearly and already decided by the Supreme Court.
The ruling effectively dismantles what many within the APC have long described as a “calculated assault on grassroots democracy” by the PDP-led administration in Osun.
Reacting to the news if the victory, Hon. Eniade hailed the judgement as the “final burial of executive lawlessness,” congratulating all APC-elected Local Government Chairmen whose mandates were undermined but never erased.
“Today, justice has prevailed. The Supreme Court has exposed the shameless desperation of those who attempted to hijack local government administration. Our chairmen, duly elected by the people, now stand vindicated,” Eniade asserted.
He noted that the verdict is not only a legal triumph but also a moral judgment on an administration he accused of “serial constitutional violations and deliberate obstruction of grassroots governance.”
Eniade charged APC chairmen across the state to rise to the occasion, emphasizing that the victory places a renewed obligation on them to justify the confidence reposed in them by the electorate.
“With autonomy restored and resources freed, there is no excuse for anything short of visible, people-oriented governance. The APC has always stood for progress, accountability, and development—and this moment calls for bold action,” he remarked.
The 2027 IBO House of Representatives hopeful commended the resilience of the APC family statewide, noting that the party remained united despite “provocations, intimidation, and political persecution.”
He also praised the Supreme Court for upholding the constitution and affirming that no state government has the authority to emasculate the third tier of government for partisan convenience.
“Osun people can now see clearly who stands for democracy and who stands against it,” Eniade added.
Hon. Eniade concluded by stating that the judgement has reenergized the APC ahead of future electoral battles, assuring party members that “the era of reckless disregard for the rule of law in Osun is gradually coming to an end.”
