Reason why my name is not on Ambassadorial list - Shehu Sani reveals

According to Daily Post, Former Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani, has explained why his name was not included in the recent ambassadorial list sent to the Senate for confirmation.

Speaking during an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday, which was monitored by DAILY POST, Sani said he was never considered for the role and believes he is still too young to take up an ambassadorial position.

He clarified that he has not gone through any of the steps required for such an appointment. According to him, there are clear procedures before anyone can be nominated as an ambassador. These steps include receiving an official call, submitting a curriculum vitae, undergoing security screening, and being vetted by the appropriate agencies.

Sani said none of these has happened in his case. “My name has never been on the list for an ambassadorial position,” he said. “I read about a month ago that there are procedures for appointment. You have to get a call, submit your CV, go for security screening, and they have to vet you. But never has my name been among them.”

He added that he still has political ambitions and work to do for the people of Kaduna State, suggesting that becoming an ambassador would take him away from his current goals.

“I think I’m too young to be an ambassador,” he said. “I still have a lot to deliver to my people in Kaduna State.”

Sani’s comments come as reactions continue to trail the newly released ambassadorial list, with many Nigerians discussing the choices and political considerations behind the nominations.
