Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 3, Osogbo Local Government Area of Osun State, have collectively called on the Special Adviser to the Osun State Governor on Political Matters, Alhaji Muniru Raji, to tender an immediate and unreserved apology to Asiwaju Olatunde Khamis Badmus following what they described as unwarranted verbal attacks.
The call was made during a well-attended stakeholders’ meeting of the party in Ward 3, where party leaders expressed deep disappointment over the actions of Alhaji Muniru Raji against Asiwaju Olatunde Khamis Badmus, a respected political leader, Godson of Isale-Osun in Ward 3, and the Asiwaju Musulumi of the South West, including Edo and Delta States.
Speaking on behalf of the leaders, party elders berated Alhaji Muniru Raji for what they termed an act of political ingratitude, noting that Asiwaju Olatunde Khamis Badmus had, in the past, played significant roles in supporting and uplifting Muniru Raji’s political journey. They expressed concern that personal political differences had now led to attempts to malign the image of an illustrious son of Osogbo who has contributed immensely to the growth of the party and the community.
The leaders emphasized that dragging Asiwaju Olatunde Khamis Badmus into public ridicule undermines party unity and threatens the cohesion of the APC in Osogbo and beyond. They stressed that internal disagreements should be resolved through dialogue and mutual respect rather than public attacks.
Consequently, the Ward 3 APC leadership unanimously advised Alhaji Muniru Raji to, as a matter of urgency, publicly apologise to Asiwaju Olatunde Khamis Badmus without delay, in the interest of peace, party discipline, and progress.
Prominent speakers at the meeting included Alhaji Baruwa, Hon. Kabiru Baruwa Olorunlanbe, Hon. Adedokun, Hon. Remi, Hon. Royal, Hon. Clinton, APC Secretary Osogbo LG and other notable party stakeholders, all of whom echoed the call for reconciliation and reaffirmed their commitment to unity within the APC.
The leaders concluded by urging all party members to place the collective interest of the APC above personal ambitions and to work together to strengthen the party ahead of future political engagements.
