The remains of the murdered Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, officer, Lasisi Oluwamayokun, and her daughter, Adesewa, have been laid to rest in Osogbo, Osun State.
The burial service was held at St John’s Anglican Church, Ita-Olookan, Osogbo, where mourners which included family members, colleagues and sympathisers gathered to pay their final respects to the deceased mother and child.
Oluwamayokun, aged 38, was an officer of the Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps.
She and her daughter were reported missing on Sunday, November 2, 2025, after leaving their residence at Obasanjo Hilltop Estate, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Police accounts reported that “the pair never returned home.”
Their disappearance prompted concern from relatives and colleagues, who later reported the matter to security agencies.
Investigations by the police later led to the arrest of Victor Fajemirokun, identified as the deceased officer’s man friend, in connection with the deaths of the woman and her child.
When paraded before journalists, Fajemirokun, aged 40, reportedly confessed that he, “lured Oluwamayokun and her daughter to Osun State, where they were killed with the assistance of suspected herbalists.”
Two suspects, Gboyega Daramola and Sunday James, were also paraded at the headquarters of the Osun State Police Command in Osogbo in connection with the crime.
At the burial ceremony, colleagues of the deceased officer were seen in tears as the caskets were lowered into the ground, with several struggling to control their emotions.
One of the mourners, a family member, said, “This is a painful and heartbreaking loss. We are still struggling to understand how this could happen.”
The Osun State Police Command also revealed that investigations into the case were ongoing and that the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
