Reactions Trail What Fubara Said After It Was Announced That Senator Mpigi Has Died At The Age of 64


Social media users have taken to their official X account on Thursday, February 19, 2026 to react to the statement that was made by the governor of Rivers state, Siminalayi Fubara after it was announced that the lawmaker representing Rivers South-East Senatorial District in the 10th Assembly, Senator Barinada Mpigi has died.

According to report that surfaced on the official X account of ARISE NEWS, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Works died at the age of 64.
Reacting, the governor of Rivers state expressed sadness over the death of the lawmaker. Siminalayi Fubara stated that Senator Mpigi died at a time when Rivers state people still need his wealth of experience.
According to ARISE NEWS, the governor of Rivers state said that;
“He died at a time when his wealth of experience and commitment to public service were still required for the development of Rivers state".
