In a heartwarming display of compassion and community service, the Brave Women Progressive Association has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to uplifting vulnerable members of society. The humanitarian gesture unfolded on Saturday, March 28, 2026, when the association extended vital support to an elderly blind man in Ilesa, bringing relief and renewed hope to his life.
Moved by reports of the man’s difficult living conditions, the Founder and President of the association, Evangelist Matilda Farinde, promptly took action. Determined to assess the situation firsthand, she paid a personal visit to the elderly man, engaging him in conversation to better understand his immediate needs.
During the visit, the man humbly expressed his pressing concerns, which included lack of food, financial hardship, and the absence of a caregiver to assist him in his daily activities. Without delay, Evangelist Farinde mobilized resources to meet these needs. She proceeded to the local market, where she purchased essential food items before returning to present them to the beneficiary. In addition, she provided a cash gift to support his personal expenses.
Beyond the immediate assistance, the association made a significant commitment to improve the man’s quality of life. Evangelist Farinde assured him that arrangements would be made to secure a caregiver, whose salary would be fully covered by the association an intervention aimed at providing long-term support and dignity.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the outreach, Evangelist Farinde emphasized the mission of the Brave Women Progressive Association. She noted that the organization was founded with a clear purpose: to care for the needy and vulnerable across society. According to her, the association has been actively engaged in humanitarian efforts for years, consistently reaching out to those in distress.
She further called on well-meaning individuals and organizations to partner with the association, stressing that collective support would enable them to expand their impact and assist more people in need.
As the story of this generous act spreads, it serves as a powerful reminder of the difference compassion and community-driven initiatives can make. For the elderly man in Ilesa, what began as a period of hardship has now been met with kindness, restoring not just his sustenance, but also his hope.
