Eid-El-Fitr: MOTIJ Pays Sallah Homage to Timi of Ede, Emphasizes Unity and Peaceful Coexistence


A Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress in Ede MOTIJ on Friday joined other dignitaries to celebrate Eid-El-Fitr with the Timi of Ede, Oba Lawal Munirudeen Adesola, in a visit that underscored the importance of unity and peaceful coexistence within the community.

The delegation, which included Ambassador Adejare Bello, paid a traditional Sallah homage at the royal palace in Ede to felicitate with the monarch during the festive period.

The visit was marked by an atmosphere of warmth and reflection, as Islamic clerics offered prayers for peace, progress, and cohesion among the people of Ede. In their messages, the clerics acknowledged existing divisions within the community and called for renewed commitment to unity among indigenes.




A key highlight of the gathering was the emphasis on political tolerance. Speakers urged residents and stakeholders to embrace respectful engagement despite differing political affiliations, stressing that collective development remains a shared goal.

They further called for constructive dialogue and peaceful interactions, warning against actions that could incite conflict or violence.

The event concluded with goodwill messages and Eid greetings extended to the people of Ede and beyond, reinforcing the spirit of harmony associated with the celebration.
