NSCDC apprehended car-snatching syndicate operating at Orozo.

In a deeply troubling case of internal misconduct, an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) was apprehended in the Orozo area of the FCT, Abuja, after being linked to a car-snatching syndicate.

Following a series of discreet investigations by the FCT Police Command in late 2025 and early 2026, it was confirmed that the officer had successfully stolen at least four vehicles within the Orozo axis, leveraging his official uniform and security credentials to bypass checkpoints and lower the guard of his victims.

The arrest follows a wider crackdown on "insider threats" within Nigerian security agencies, where personnel use their positions to facilitate criminal activities like armed robbery and kidnapping.

The suspect has since been handed over to the relevant authorities for summary dismissal and criminal prosecution to ensure that the integrity of the Corps is maintained and justice is served for the affected car owners.
