The 2027 House of Representatives hopeful for Osogbo Federal Constituency, Prince Dr. Abdulrasheed Muideen Romeo, has expressed profound grief and heartfelt sympathy with residents and business owners affected by the devastating rainstorm that struck Osogbo and surrounding communities.
Reacting to the destruction caused by the heavy downpour, Prince Romeo said he was deeply pained by the level of damage inflicted on homes, shops, and means of livelihood, noting that many families have been left counting painful losses overnight.
“This is not just a natural occurrence; it is a moment of shared pain for all of us as a people. To see hardworking men and women wake up to shattered shops, destroyed goods, and damaged homes is truly heartbreaking,” he said.
He lamented that beyond the physical destruction, the emotional and economic toll on victims is immense, as many now face uncertainty about how to rebuild their lives.
“In a time like this, words may not be enough to heal the wounds, but I want every affected resident to know that you are not alone. Your pain is felt, your losses are acknowledged, and your struggles matter,” Prince Romeo added.
The aspirant urged government authorities and relevant emergency agencies to act with urgency and compassion, stressing that timely intervention would go a long way in restoring hope to those affected.
He also appealed to well-meaning individuals, community leaders, and organizations to rise in solidarity with victims by offering support in any way possible.
Prince Romeo concluded with prayers for comfort and strength for the victims, expressing hope that Osogbo will rise from the devastation stronger, united, and more determined than ever.
