The Brave Women Progressive Association has announced plans to lay the foundation for a commemorative bus stop in honour of the late High Chief Adebayo Ajeigbe in Ororuwo, Osun State, on Monday, May 4, 2026. at 11am.
The project, named the “Baba Ajeigbe Bus-Stop,” will be situated in Ororuwo, the hometown of the deceased, and is aimed at preserving his legacy and celebrating his contributions to community development during his lifetime.
In a statement issued to journalists in Osogbo on Thursday, the Worldwide President of the association, Evang. Matilda Farinde, explained that the initiative is part of efforts to immortalise the late High Chief, who passed away in 2022. She noted that Ajeigbe played a significant role in the growth of the association and the advancement of his community.
Farinde emphasized that the project goes beyond infrastructure, describing it as a moral reminder to individuals about the importance of impacting lives positively while still alive. According to her, acts of kindness and service to society create lasting memories that endure even after one’s passing.
The foundation-laying ceremony is expected to attract prominent traditional and community leaders, including the Olororuwo of Ororuwo, Oba Kamarudeen Adeyemi Adeyanju, who will lead the event alongside members of his council of chiefs and other dignitaries.
Farinde further disclosed that the bus stop project is expected to be completed within a short period, adding that the association has outlined plans for similar initiatives across Osun State. These projects, she said, are designed to honour individuals who have made meaningful contributions to societal development and to inspire future generations to follow in their footsteps.
