Durodoye Hails Basiru’s Re-Election as APC National Secretary, Calls for Educational support, Economic Growth and Improved Healthcare in Osogbo


Professor Raifu Oyewole Durodoye, a former governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Senator Ajibola Basiru on his re-election as the National Secretary of the APC during the party’s recently concluded National Convention in Abuja.


In a statement released to journalists in Osogbo on Recently, Professor Durodoye described Senator Basiru as “a round peg in a round hole,” commending his unwavering commitment, dedication, and loyalty to the progressive ideals of the party. 


He further acknowledged Basiru’s alignment with the leadership vision of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and praised the structural and organizational transformation he has brought to the party since assuming office.


Professor Durodoye noted that Senator Basiru’s re-election represents not only continuity in effective leadership but also an opportunity for renewed socio-economic advancement, particularly for the people of Osogbo and Osun State at large.


Using the occasion, he called on sons and daughters of Osogbo to rally behind this development by fostering meaningful, educational support, economic growth and ensuring the delivery of standard, accessible healthcare services across the town. 


He emphasized that political success must translate into tangible benefits for the grassroots, especially in critical sectors such as, Education, health and youth empowerment.


He specifically urged prominent indigenes, including Barrister Kunle Rasheed Adegoke (K-Rad), High Chief Teslim Igbalaye, and Hon. Olalekan Abdulrahman Badmus, to intensify their support for initiatives that uplift the youth, educational support and strengthen the healthcare system in Osogbo.


Professor Durodoye stressed the importance of creating opportunities that will enable young people to thrive, contribute meaningfully to society, and secure a better future. 


He added that the re-election of Senator Basiru symbolizes a new phase of empowerment, innovation, and hope for the younger generation, as well as a renewed commitment to quality education for children and future generations.

The torch has been passed into a new era one that demands collective responsibility in driving economic development, strengthening healthcare delivery, and building a prosperous future for Osogbo and Osun State.”
