In a decisive move to address long-standing infrastructural concerns within the Iludun community, the Executive Director of Marine and Operations at the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Engr. Olalekan Abdulrahman Badmus (OMOOLORE) FNSE, has intervened in the abandoned Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Iludun Division Office project.
The project, which was initiated in 2022 but left uncompleted for years, had raised concerns among residents due to its importance for community safety and security operations.
Responding promptly upon being informed of the situation, Engr. Badmus has deployed a team of construction engineers to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the current state of the building. The objective is to determine the extent of work already completed and outline actionable steps toward its full completion.
Engr. Badmus has assured members of the Iludun community that the project will be revived and completed within a reasonable timeframe. According to him, the engineers have already begun evaluating the structure and are expected to commence work on-site immediately after their assessment.
The intervention has been widely welcomed by community leaders and stakeholders. The Baale of Iludun, Chief Afolabi Keji, expressed deep appreciation for the timely gesture, describing Engr. Badmus as a committed and responsive son of Osogbo. He offered prayers for continued success and strength in his public service.
Similarly, Alhaji Chief Kamarudeen Yusuf Efe, Otun Babaloja of Sasa Market Osogbo and Asoju Ataoja of all markets in Osogbo, commended Engr. Badmus for his swift action. He noted that the intervention reflects a strong sense of responsibility and dedication to community development. He further praised Engr. Badmus for sustaining a legacy of service and progress associated with his family, highlighting his consistent contributions to the growth and development of Osogboland.
Community members remain optimistic that the renewed efforts will bring the long-abandoned NSCDC Iludun Division Office project to completion, thereby strengthening security infrastructure and enhancing public safety in the area.
