A grieving mother has shared a devastating account of loss after both of her sons were killed in separate incidents allegedly involving the police, raising renewed concerns about accountability and the use of force.
Human rights advocate Harrison Gwamnishu and his team recently met with the woman, whose story has drawn public attention. According to her, her first son was arrested from his home in 2022 and later died while in police custody. Authorities claimed he was killed during an exchange of gunfire, but that account has been widely questioned by observers and rights groups.
Tragically, the family has now suffered a second loss. Her son, Oghenemine Ogidi, was also reportedly killed under similar circumstances involving the police.
