...Babaloja, Shop Owners, Others Throw Weight Behind Oyebamiji's Candidature
The market women and men at the popular MDS market in Osogbo on Saturday went into jubilations as Dr. Sekinah Bola-Oyebamiji - wife of the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, donated an industrial borehole and reticulation for water supply in the market.
The borehole was installed as part of humanitarian services of Dr Oyebamiji which has brought greater relief to the beneficiaries.
This is just as Babaloja, shop owners, market women and men prayed God to grant all Oyebamiji's heart desires and make him next Governor of Osun State come August 15th, 2026.
Recall that Dr. Bola-Oyebamiji had last week facilitated massive roads grading in Olobedu, Aganga and Ota-efun communities where the residents showered encomiums on the donor for the kind gesture.
Expressing his delight, Babaloja of MDS market in Osogbo, Alhaji Akinbami Tajudeen Alao, eulogized the donor for counting the people of the market worthy of being supported.
Alhaji Alao who decried palpable negligence of the market recalled several assistance requests and appeals made by the leadership of the market to successive governments in the state without meaningful response, praised the quick response of AMBO's wife to the plight of the market community.
According to him, the people of the popular market have been hitterto suffering from lack of drinkable water, a challenge that had been tabled before governments in the past without response.
He described the gesture as the greatest thing that had happened to the market community since its creation urging the beneficiaries to treasure the facility and apply responsible maintenance mechanism.
Babaloja added: "It is surprising that we just woke up today and were told that the wife of the APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), Dr Sekinah Bola-Oyebamiji facilitated borehole facility for us in this market. This is a welcome development and philanthropic gesture that none can take for granted. As you can see, the entire market here both MDS zones A and B do not have a single borehole until this is installed. It is on this premise that we wholeheartedly express our profound gratitude to the donor - Dr. Sekinah Bola-Oyebamiji for this humanitarian and selfless service.
"This is well appreciated because since the creation of this market no one has ever done this not even the government ever remembered us since we have been here. It is unfortunate that as popular and big as this market is, we can not boast of a borehole but now that Oyebamiji's family has gifted this to us, we pray God to answer all their prayers and make AMBO the next Governor of Osun State so that we can continue to benefit more and for Osun to be great again."
Corroborating this gesture, Chairman Zone B Osogbo MDS Shop Owners Association, Elder Ponle Adeyinka David thanked Dr. Bola-Oyebamiji for the kind gesture.
He promised to ensure proper maintenance of the facility just as he urged the donor to help replicate same gesture at Zone A of the market.
The Secretary, MDS Shop Owners Association, Osogbo, Alhaji Adewuyi Sikiru Aremu described the gesture as unprecedented in the history of the market showering encomiums on the donor for counting them worthy.
In their separate remarks, some of the market women who couldn't hold their enthusiasms lauded Dr. Bola-Oyebamiji and prayed God to continue upholding her family and grant her spouse all his heart desires to become Osun next Governor come August 15th, 2026 saying "facilitating and donating a borehole water facility is a high-impact philanthropic initiative that provides sustainable access to clean water for the benefit of all and sundry in the market"
