The Ataoja of Osogboland, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun Larooye II, has extended profound appreciation to eminent personalities, traditional rulers, and distinguished guests who graced the historic installation of Chief Mrs. Olufunsho Amosun as the Yeye Moremi of Odua.
In his goodwill message, the revered monarch congratulated Chief Mrs. Olufunsho Amosun on her well-deserved elevation, describing her as a compassionate, selfless, and exemplary woman whose life embodies the enduring virtues of Moremi Ajasoro. He noted that her emergence into this prestigious role is a testament to her character, integrity, and unwavering commitment to service.
Reflecting on history, Oba Olanipekun recounted the heroic exploits of Moremi Ajasoro, who made immense sacrifices for the liberation and protection of the Yoruba people. He emphasized that the revered title of Yeye Moremi is exclusively reserved for women of outstanding moral standing, courage, and dedication to humanity.
The Ataoja charged the newly installed Yeye Moremi to uphold the dignity of the title by continuing her impactful humanitarian efforts, while promoting Yoruba cultural heritage, unity, and socio-cultural advancement.
Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun Larooye II also appreciate the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja II for installing an illustrious daughter of Osogbo with the chieftancy title of Yeye Moremi of Odua.
The colourful ceremony attracted an array of distinguished dignitaries from across Nigeria. Notable among them were former Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun; former Osun State Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola; former Lagos State Governor and ex-Minister of Works, Babatunde Raji Fashola; former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro; former Ogun State Governor, Gbenga Daniel; former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Iyiola Omisore; and the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa.
Also in attendance were respected figures including the Asiwaju of Osogboland, Rtd. Justice Moshud Adekunle Adeigbe; members of the Ataoja-in-Council; Baales; market leaders including Babalojas and Iyalojas; Iyalodes; and Kamarudeen Yusuf Efe, Otun Babaloja of Sasa Market, who represented the Ataoja across all markets in Osogbo.
The event further witnessed the presence of senators, members of the House of Representatives, wives of former governors, prominent business leaders, senior government officials, and several First Ladies.
Among the royal fathers in attendance were the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, and Oba Mufutau Muhammed Gbadamosi, alongside other eminent monarchs from various parts of Yorubaland.
The Ataoja reaffirmed his gratitude to all attendees for their show of solidarity and commitment to preserving Yoruba heritage, noting that their presence added grandeur and cultural significance to the occasion.
