Osun Amotekun Commander, Omoyele Commissions Newly Constructed Amotekun Post In Eko-Ende, Charges Officers On Discipline and Dedication To Duty
In a significant step towards strengthening grassroots security architecture in Osun State, the Corps Commander of the Osun Amotekun Corps, High Chief Dr. Hon. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, has officially commissioned a newly constructed Amotekun Post Building located around the Powerline area of Eko-Ende in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Osun State.
The modern security facility was generously constructed and donated by the Elende of Eko-Ende Land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdulwaheed Babatunde Adekunle, FCA, Ayunawa IV, as part of his unwavering commitment to enhancing the protection of lives and property and sustaining peace within the community.
The colourful commissioning ceremony attracted dignitaries, traditional leaders, community stakeholders, and officers of the Osun Amotekun Corps from various ranks across the state. The event featured a ceremonial parade and other activities showcasing the readiness of the security outfit to deepen community-based security operations.
In his opening address, the Eesa of Eko-Ende Land, High Chief Isaac Kolawole Ogunkeye, highlighted several developmental projects executed by the monarch since ascending the throne. According to him, the traditional ruler has undertaken numerous people-oriented initiatives, including the construction and rehabilitation of roads, installation of solar-powered street lights across the ancient town, educational support programmes, and several other infrastructural developments aimed at improving the quality of life of residents.
High Chief Ogunkeye commended the monarch's visionary leadership and appealed to residents and indigenes of Eko-Ende to continue supporting and cooperating with the royal father to ensure sustained growth and development of the community.
Speaking during the commissioning, the Corps Commander, High Chief Dr. Hon. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, expressed profound appreciation to Oba Abdulwaheed Babatunde Adekunle for his remarkable investment in community security through the construction of the Amotekun Post.
Dr. Omoyele described the project as a demonstration of purposeful leadership and a practical contribution to the collective responsibility of safeguarding lives and property. He acknowledged the monarch's deployment of resources, building materials, and technical expertise towards the successful completion of the security facility.
The Corps Commander assured the royal father and residents of Eko-Ende of the unwavering commitment of the Osun Amotekun Corps to ensuring maximum security across the community and its environs.
As part of the ceremony, Dr. Omoyele formally introduced the hierarchy of officers who will be stationed at the newly commissioned post and assured the community that the office would remain fully operational and adequately supported by the State Command.
Addressing the officers posted to the facility, the Corps Commander charged them to uphold the core values of discipline, professionalism, integrity, and dedication to duty. He emphasized that they must remain committed to the mandate upon which the Amotekun Corps was established.
"Amotekun belongs to the people, and the mandate given to us is clear—to protect lives and property across Osun State. I therefore urge all officers deployed to this post to discharge their duties with utmost diligence, maintain cordial relationships with members of the community, and work closely with local vigilante groups and other security agencies operating within the town," he stated.
In his royal remarks, the Elende of Eko-Ende Land, His Royal Majesty Oba Abdulwaheed Babatunde Adekunle, FCA, Ayunawa IV, expressed gratitude to the Corps Commander, High Chief Dr. Hon. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, the Field Commander, Dr. Capt. Olusoji Akanni, and other officers of the Corps for honouring the community with their presence and for officially unveiling the security post project.
The monarch noted that the establishment of a permanent Amotekun presence in Eko-Ende would significantly enhance security, strengthen intelligence gathering, and further sustain the peace and tranquility currently enjoyed by residents.
Oba Adekunle reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the operations of the security outfit in the community. As part of this commitment, he pledged to provide daily feeding support for officers stationed at the post as well as accommodation facilities to ensure their comfort and operational effectiveness.
The royal father further prayed for divine wisdom, strength, and empowerment for the leadership and personnel of the Osun Amotekun Corps as they continue to discharge their constitutional responsibilities of safeguarding communities across the state.
