British-Nigerian businessman and social media influencer Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo, also known as Denisi or Ego, has reportedly died from complications linked to a cosmetic procedure he underwent during a luxury trip to Thailand with his wife.
According to findings presented at an inquest at Inner West London Coroners’ Court, the 43-year-old reportedly received 40 millilitres of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine during a penis enlargement procedure at a clinic in Bangkok in March.
A postmortem examination conducted in the UK reportedly discovered cellular material in his lungs that matched the hyaluronic acid used during the procedure.
Coroner Jean Harkin subsequently ruled that Ubiribo died from a pulmonary embolism linked to the cosmetic procedure.
Hours after the procedure, Ubiribo and his wife, Danielle Simba Allen, reportedly went for a massage. During the session, he complained of chest pain and reportedly collapsed twice.
He was rushed to Sukhumvit Hospital, where doctors diagnosed him with a pulmonary embolism — a potentially fatal condition in which a blood clot blocks an artery supplying the lungs.
Medical personnel reportedly performed CPR for more than 100 minutes in an effort to save his life. However, Ubiribo died in the early hours of March 6.
Pathologist John du Parcq reportedly stated in his findings that material discovered in Ubiribo’s lungs was consistent with the hyaluronic acid used during the procedure and supported the diagnosis of a pulmonary embolism.
Ubiribo, who had amassed around 185,000 Instagram followers, was known online for his flamboyant lifestyle, luxury experiences and influential social media presence.
His sudden death has reportedly raised fresh concerns about the potential risks and complications associated with cosmetic enhancement procedures.
