A female s£xu@l health therapist, Princessa Lucci Aggrey, has sparked reactions online after claiming that men should sit or squ@t while urinating rather than stand to reduce the risk of prostate cancer.
Aggrey made the claim while featuring as a guest on Apostle Femi Lazarus’ “Declassified” podcast, where the discussion focused on prostate c@ncer and concerns over its prevalence among men.
During the conversation, the therapist revealed that she had advised her son to stop standing while urinating and instead sit or squ@t.
She explained that, in her view, standing while urinating puts pressure on the prostate, whereas sitting or squ@tting allows urine to pass more easily.
She said: “I told my son, from henceforth you will either sit to pee or squ@t to pee.”
Curious about her advice, Femi Lazarus asked her to explain the reason behind it.
Responding, Aggrey said: “Because when you stand to pee, you put stress on your prost@te, but when you squ@t to pee or you sit to pee, you ease it.”
During the discussion, Lazarus referenced the practice of squatting to urin@te in Northern Nigeria, noting that it was once something people joked about.
The therapist then claimed that prostate c@ncer was “very rare” among men in the North because of the practice.
She also linked squatting while defecating to better bowel relaxation, arguing that it allows the rectum and other parts of the digestive system to relax.
However, her claims about squatting or sitting to urinate preventing prost@te c@ncer have not been established as a medically proven way to prevent the disease. Prost@te cancer has several known r!sk factors, including age, family history and genetics, and men are advised to seek proper medical guidance rather than rely solely on claims made online or on social media.
The conversation has since generated reactions online, with many Nigerians debating the therapist’s claims and the possible benefits or drawbacks of sitting or squ@tt!ng while urinating.
