As preparations for the 2027 General Elections gather momentum, the Renewed Hope Project 2027 has pledged to mobilise 10 million votes from the South-West in support of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The group made this known in a statement issued through the office of its South-West Coordinator, Hon. Adebayo Temitope, who said the organisation remained committed to educating Nigerians on the policies, programmes and achievements of the present administration.
According to him, the Renewed Hope Project 2027 will take its campaign and mobilisation efforts to the grassroots, including states, local government areas, wards and polling units across the South-West.
Hon. Adebayo said the group would not be distracted by what he described as attempts by opposition politicians to use the removal of fuel subsidy and other economic reforms to discredit the Tinubu administration.
He acknowledged that the reforms had brought difficulties and sacrifices for many Nigerians, but maintained that some of the measures were necessary to address longstanding economic challenges and reposition the country for sustainable growth.
«“We understand that Nigerians are going through difficult times, and we do not take their concerns for granted. However, we must also understand that meaningful development sometimes requires difficult decisions and sacrifices.»
«“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu understands the Nigerian economy, and his administration is taking steps that we believe will build a stronger economy and a better Nigeria for the coming generations.”»
The South-West Coordinator further urged Nigerians not to judge the administration solely by the immediate difficulties associated with economic reforms, but to also consider the long-term benefits and opportunities that such reforms are intended to create.
He noted that many developed nations that Nigerians admire today also went through difficult periods, economic reforms and sacrifices before achieving sustainable development.
Hon. Adebayo therefore appealed to Nigerians, particularly youths, to remain patient and actively participate in the rebuilding of the country rather than allowing political propaganda to create unnecessary division.
He also acknowledged the efforts of the national leaders of the Renewed Hope Project 2027, His Excellency, Senator George Akume, and Major General AbdulMalik Jibrin (Rtd.), for their commitment and dedication to mobilising support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term bid.
He said the Renewed Hope Project 2027 would continue to engage citizens, provide information and mobilise support for the administration based on its assessment of the government’s policies, programmes and achievements.
He added that the proposed 10 million votes from the South-West would not be achieved through empty promises, but through sustained grassroots mobilisation, political engagement and direct interaction with the people.
«“Our target of 10 million votes for the APC in the South-West is a commitment we are prepared to work for. We will take our message to the people, listen to their concerns and explain the policies of the administration.»
«“We believe in the Renewed Hope agenda, and we are confident that, with continued mobilisation and support from our people, the South-West will play a decisive role in the 2027 election.”»
The group also called on political leaders and stakeholders to make the 2027 electoral process an opportunity for issue-based campaigns, constructive debates and genuine discussions about the future of Nigeria.
The Renewed Hope Project 2027 reaffirmed its determination to work with stakeholders across the South-West to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and promote what it described as the achievements, policies and vision of the Tinubu administration ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
