Nollywood actress and filmmaker Temitope Osoba will be laid to rest in Iperu Remo, Ogun State, on Thursday, September 10, 2026, following the release of her burial arrangements by her family.
The family announced the funeral plans in an obituary shared on the actress’ official Instagram page on Monday.
According to the announcement, Osoba’s remains will leave the Ogun State University Teaching Hospital (OSUTH), Sagamu, at 9am. The burial service will then take place between 10am and 11am at Akesan Club, opposite Iperu Morning Market, Iperu Remo.
The family stated that the interment would follow immediately after the service at the Iperu Remo Cemetery.
The dress code for the funeral was given as white.
Osoba, popularly known as Tope Osoba, died in August 2026 at the age of 40. She had spent nearly two decades in the Nigerian film industry, particularly in Yoruba-language productions, and was known for her roles in films including Oogun Mi.
Before her death, the actress had publicly spoken about her battle with breast cancer. About two years earlier, she had sought public support for her treatment and surgery.
In August 2025, Osoba announced that she had recovered and was returning to acting, describing the period as a season of healing, rebranding and empowerment.
However, questions surrounding the circumstances of her death have persisted, following conflicting accounts from her fiancé and members of her family.
Her fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, alleged that Osoba died after she was taken to a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos. Members of her family, however, provided a different account of the events surrounding her final hours.
The conflicting claims prompted calls for further investigation, with actor Yomi Fabiyi among those who urged authorities to conduct an investigation and autopsy to establish the cause and circumstances of her death.
Following her demise, Osoba’s family cautioned against the spread of unverified information and appealed to the public and media to rely on statements issued through its official channels.
Her burial was initially scheduled for August 13 in Iperu Remo but was subsequently postponed indefinitely.
The family has now confirmed Thursday, September 10, 2026, as the new date for the final rites of the late actress.
