Amotekun Arrests Two Men For Shop Burgling In Osun

 


The Operatives of Osun Amotekun Corps have arrested two young men identified as Toheeb Yekini, 35 years old, from Iwo, and Yekini Sulikaleni, 30 years old, from Iwo, Osun State, the duo were arrested for burgling a shop before luck ran against them.


The suspects were arrested on Tuesday at the Oje Oniyan area in Iwo after the operatives of  Amotekun Iwo Command received a distress call around 11:30 am on the activities of the felons in the area, the Amotekun operatives who swung into action immediately and apprehended the suspect on the spot.


The suspects confessed to committing the crime and pleaded for mercy.


Confirming the arrest to the newsmen in Osogbo, the Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi said the felons were arrested at the Oje Oniyan area in Iwo after our operatives received a distressed call from the residents of the area, our operatives who swung into action immediately and apprehended the culprits in the act.


Upon the investigation, "the suspects admitted to committing the crime and this is not the first time committing the same act, as one of the culprits, Yekini Sulikaleni was an ex-convict jailed for the same act in the past.


Adewinmbi advised inhabitants to assist security agencies with reasonable intelligence information to tackle any potential security threat in the state.


The suspects have been handed over to the DSS for subsequent interrogation and prosecution.
