One of the foremost and established ruling houses in the Ataoja Chieftaincy, Lajomo Ruling House Osogbo has insisted on the reversal of the elevation of Baale of Irepodun Community Oke-Osun Osogbo to Part II Traditional Council in the state, which contravenes the native law and custom for anyone to be made an Oba on any of Osogbo land without the consent of the princes of the five ruling houses first sought and obtained.
Recalled that the ruling house in June this year submitted a letter to the Osun State Governor Sen. Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke demanding review and reversal with immediate effect the elevation of Baale of Irepodun Oke-Osun Community Osogbo as same is in conflict and travesty of the native law and custom of Osogbo land.
In a statement made available to the newsmen in Osogbo on Friday 19th July this year by the Head of the entire Lajomo Ruling House, Pa Adeleke Oduola. He described the action as uncalled for.
The ruling house urges the Osun State governor Sen. Asiwaju Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke to intervene on the matter and do the needful by reversing the elevation of Baale of Irepodun Oke-Osun Community to the traditional title which contravenes the native law and custom for anyone to be made an Oba on any of Osogbo land without the consent of the princes of the five ruling houses first sought and obtained.
The ruling house insisted that they are not ready to embrace any dialogue with anybody without the reversal of the elevation of Baale of Irepodun Oke-Osun Community Osogbo to his former status.
