GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION: Osun APC Applauds Ondo People For Rejecting PDP, Prays For Divine Support For Aiyedatiwa

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended the people of Ondo State for rejecting the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in favour of the APC in the governorship election that was held in the state yesterday.

The Osun State chairman of the APC, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement issued by the party's Director of Media and Information, Chief Kola Olabisi, today, stated that the popularity of the progressive party has never dwindled in the Sunshine State before and after the election.

Lawal stated that the victory of the APC in the governorship election where the incumbent Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa was the party's candidate was an indication that the APC is a party to beat in the entire Southwest geo-political zone of the country.

The state APC chairman who described the APC'S victory in Ondo State as a result of the sustainability of qualitative governance by the APC administration in the state over the years disclosed that the electorate could not be taken for granted by any reactionary group of opportunistic politicians whose mission is to milk the state dry.

He stated that the wind of the political development blowing in Ondo State where the electorate have spoken through their votes for the preference of the APC over other parties would continue to blow until the entire states in the Southwest geopolitical zone have the opportunity to be governed by the progressive party.

Lawal hinted that it is only an inexperienced farmer who would not have the foreknowledge of the direction of where a tree being felled would eventually fall into and that one does not need a rocket science to know that the PDP did not have any enviable credential to win the governorship election in Ondo State.

In the APC chairman's words: "It is with extreme joy that I am congratulating the people of Ondo State, the governor, the entire members of the APC in the Sunshine State and the national leaders of the party on the victory of the APC in the governorship election held in the state yesterday.

"The result of the election was an indication that the people of Ondo State are on the same page with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his glaring efforts to correct some of the age-long socio-political and economic challenges plaguing the nation.

"We, as a party of the progressive extraction, are not surprised that the APC won the Ondo State election landslide as there is no discerning minds who will be witnessing the acts of brazen mis-governance  going on in the neighbouring PDP-controlled states in the Southwest that would have anything to do with the leprous party.

"We shall continue to pray for divine assistance for the administration of Mr Aiyedatiwa  in the interest of the continuous development of Ondo State while the members of our party in Osun State should close their ranks and collectively work assiduously in order to send Governor Ademola Adeleke back to wherever he comes from in the United States of America through the forthcoming 2026 election.
