Ilerioluwa Initiative Empowers 200 Women with Financial Support to Enhance Their Businesses
In a significant move to promote women's empowerment, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Adegboyega Isiaka Oyetola, has extended financial support to 200 women in Olorunda Local Government to boost their businesses. This initiative is part of the Ilerioluwa Empowerment Program, which is proudly sponsored by Engr. Olalekan Abdulrahman Badmus FNSE, the Executive Director of Marine and Operations at the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
The event, held at the Ilerioluwa Campaign Office in Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo, saw the beneficiaries receive cash grants aimed at supporting their entrepreneurial ventures. The initiative is a testament to Engr. Badmus’ ongoing partnership with Alhaji Oyetola, as they both work towards advancing socio-economic development and improving the livelihoods of women in the community and the state at large.
The cash donations were presented by Dr. Damilare Hakeem Adeyemi, who spoke passionately to the recipients about the core objective of the program. Dr. Adeyemi emphasized that the aim was to empower women by providing them with the financial resources they need to grow their businesses, achieve financial independence, and improve the welfare of their families.
Dr. Adeyemi also highlighted that this initiative reflects Alhaji Oyetola’s longstanding commitment to promoting small business growth, particularly for women, as a key driver of community development. By equipping these women with the tools to succeed, Engr. Badmus is helping to further Oyetola’s vision for sustainable economic development in the region.
The recipients, who engage in various sectors including retail, food processing, and agriculture, expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the support. Many shared how the financial aid would enable them to expand their operations, create job opportunities, and enhance their families’ living standards.
This empowerment program aligns with Alhaji Oyetola’s broader goal of fostering economic inclusion and championing women’s entrepreneurship, especially in underserved communities. Through this initiative, Oyetola is contributing to a more equitable society where women are empowered to thrive.
