Osun 2026: Arigbabuwo Cautions APC Members Against Zoning Agitation, Advocates Unity for Stronger Party

Hon. Akeem Arigbabuwo, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ife South Local Government, has issued a stern warning to those agitating for the zoning of the Governorship ticket ahead of the 2026 elections.

In a statement made available to the media on Saturday, Arigbabuwo urged that such efforts should cease, emphasizing that internal divisions over zoning could severely harm the party’s unity and prospects in the upcoming election.

According to Arigbabuwo, the focus should be on creating a cohesive and formidable team that speaks with one voice, rather than getting caught up in divisive zoning debates. He stressed that the party's strength lies in unity and collective purpose, as opposed to fueling disagreements that could undermine the APC’s success in the next election cycle.

In his statement, Arigbabuwo reaffirmed that the people of Osun State still have confidence in the leadership of former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola. He pointed out that the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy remains highly relevant in the state’s political landscape, with a significant number of residents still desiring his return to power in 2026.

Arigbabuwo emphasized that Oyetola’s leadership had left a positive impact on the people, and his political influence and public support are undiminished.

In conclusion, Arigbabuwo called on all party members, stakeholders, and residents of Osun State to rally together and prioritize the party’s unity and strength, rather than focusing on divisive internal issues.

He urged all to work towards a common goal of ensuring APC’s victory in the 2026 governorship elections.
