The Executive Chairman of Ejigbo Local Government, Hon. Gbolahan Ayegbayo has called on those disturbing the peace of the community to eschew violence and maintain peace forthwith.
This was as he directed all the staff in the local government council to resume duty without any further delay, urging them to stay apolitical as required by the civil service rule which governs their professional engagement and work ethics.
Ayegbayo who gave the charge while resuming office in compliance with the Appeal Court judgement reinstating all the sacked APC elected local government officials across the state, noted that the people of Ejigbo and it environs are known for peace and 'omoluabi' ethos.
The council boss further noted that his party, All Progressives Congress has always sued for peace and obedience to law which was why it has never been seen brewing political crisis even after the lower court ordered their sacking, but only rose to cause effect to the judgement of appeal court reinstating them back to the office.
He however, reiterated the autonomy of local government administration as pronounced by the supreme court, noting that the people of Ejigbo local government would start seeing the dividends of democracy through numerous developmental projects that would be rolled out by the administration.
In their separate remarks, the Chairmen of Ejigbo South LCDA and West LCDA, Hon. Akintegbe Bashir and Hon. Kolapo Adeyanju respectively, called on well-meaning people to support the administration in a bid to maka significant positive impacts on the lives of the people, while also appreciating the leaders of the party for their steadfastness in making the rule of law prevail above any political machination.
