LG Appeal Court Saga: Osun NNPP Chairman, Oyebamiji Kayode, Urges APC and PDP to Adhere to the Rule of Law, Calls for Peaceful Resolution

 

The newly elected Chairman of the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) in Osun State, Hon. Oyebamiji Francis Kayode, has called on both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State to adhere strictly to the rule of law in their political dealings. He stressed the need for both parties to exercise restraint and avoid actions that could disrupt the prevailing peace and stability in the state.

In a statement issued to newsmen on Tuesday, February 18, in Osogbo, Hon. Oyebamiji condemned the recent actions of the APC and PDP, which led to a crisis following their entry into local government councils in the state.

The crisis, which erupted on Monday, has raised concerns about the security and harmony of the state.

Hon. Oyebamiji emphasized that the political environment in Osun State must be characterized by mutual respect for legal processes and the Constitution. He highlighted that the actions of both the APC and PDP, which ignored legal protocols and led to unnecessary chaos, were highly inappropriate and counterproductive.

“The actions of the APC and PDP in Osun State are regrettable and uncalled for. Both parties must recognize the importance of upholding the rule of law. We cannot allow the political ambitions of a few individuals to destabilize the peace we have worked so hard to build in Osun State,” he said.

He further urged the two major political parties to abandon any tendencies towards violence or disorder and to follow the appropriate legal channels in resolving their grievances. Hon. Oyebamiji called on all stakeholders to prioritize dialogue and cooperation for the continued well-being of Osun State.

“I appeal to the APC and PDP to tread cautiously and respect the rule of law. It is imperative that we set a positive example for the people of Osun State. Our citizens deserve a peaceful and stable environment to thrive, and political leaders must work together to ensure that this remains a reality,” he concluded.
