Fraudulent Endorsement Exposed: Desperate Attempts to Impose an Aspirant Within ALGON Backfire, by Samson Owoyokun

Those who stubbornly refuse to learn from history are doomed to be nothing more than victims and forgotten footnotes in its pages when such stories are being shared in the future. It is sheer madness to keep repeating the same blunders while expecting a different outcome. At this point, even the blind can see, and the deaf can hear that you can not give what you do not possess. Politcal leadership should not be a game of desperation, and there is a limit to how far money can buy loyalty. The disgraceful attempt by certain desperate elements within the APC in Osun State to impose a candidate on the entire party is already backfiring, as politically sound minds are beginning to speak out against the reckless charade.

Social media was yesterday polluted with an absurd and divisive stunt, where a very few opportunists parading themselves as former Local Government Chairmen (2017-2022) and coalition of recently reinstated Chairmen claimed to have endorse Bola Oyebamiji for the 2026 governorship election. No valid criteria, no logical parameters, not even a well-prepared speech, but just a pathetic display of political desperation.

This is nothing short of a disgraceful joke taken to ridiculous pedestals. The chief mastermind of this political fraud is Hakeem Tokede, a man whose influence, according to seasoned political analysts, is no greater than that of a beancake seller wrapping paper in his own backyard, Boluwaduro LG.

The audacity of this lightweight to claim he speaks for a well-established forum is laughable. How low will some people stoop for personal gains and inordinate ambition?

Reacting swiftly to Tokede’s treacherous misadventure, the Osun State ALGON chairman, Abiodun Idowu, wasted no time in shutting down this ill-fated plot in a heated and tensed message shared within the ALGON closed WhatsApp group.

"I have been slow to respond and I have been showing restraint to publish viral message to dissociate myself and all of us on this platform because some enemies  might seize the opportunity and rejoice in disunity amongst us.  Secondly, I've contacted those who are connected with the publication to delete everything or remove the name of Reinstated Council Chairmen from the publication within the next thirty minutes, or else I write a rejoinder to debunk. Let us wait a while and see what happens. "

Adding weight to this backlash, Engr. Oyediran Asimiyu Amobi MNSE, FNICE, a respected council chairman in OlaOluwa LG, also distanced himself from Tokede’s web of lies and deceit. He categorically stated that no legitimate meeting was ever convened, nor was any such reckless decision taken. Even worse, over 80% of members were neither informed nor invited, proving beyond doubt that this was a desperate, self-serving ploy.

Amobi went on to warn men and women of integrity within the APC to wake up and think strategically if they were serious about securing victory in 2026.

If this fraudulent endorsement by Tokede and his gang of political miscreants is allowed to go unchallenged, it will spell disaster for APC. The party must wake up to the reality of the times and seasons. The 2026 APC gubernatorial candidate must be a grassroots politician with natural, organic followership, not a weak, money induced puppet propped up by a gang of political hustlers throwing money around like lacers. APC can not afford to walk blindly into another catastrophic political miscalculation. The stakes are too high, and the time to stop all these sponsored charades is now.
