The Executive Chairman of Ejigbo Local Government, Hon. Gbolahan Ayegbayo has feted with the christian faithful in the local government area, as they journey through a 40-day long lenten period of the ecclesiastical year involving abstinence and deep spirituality.
In a press statement he personally signed and released to the journalists on Wednesday, the council helmsman also described the christians as critical stakeholder and agent of change needed in the quest for engendering community development.
The statement read: "As we embark on the Lenten season, I extend warm greetings to all Christians in Ejigbo Local Government Area. This period of reflection, sacrifice, and spiritual growth is a significant time for us to work together as a community.
"While we journey through the 40 days of Lent, I charge you all to embrace good virtues that promote community development, such as kindness, compassion, and selflessness. Let us use this opportunity to reflect on our actions and their impact on those around us.
"In our quest to build a better Ejigbo local government, let us remember that our individual actions can collectively make a significant impact. I encourage you to use this season as an opportunity to reflect on how we can work together to address the challenges facing our community.
"May this period of reflection, sacrifice, and spiritual growth be filled with peace, renewal, and a deeper spiritual connection which bring you closer to the heart of the Lord Jesus Christ, while inspiring us to be agents of positive change in our local government area. I wish you all a blessed and reflective Lenten season", the statement concluded.
