The All Progressives Congress (APC), Osun State Chapter, has called on Muslims across the state to use the ongoing Ramadan period to offer special prayers for the restoration of peace, security and prosperity in the state.
The state chairman of the APC, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement issued by the party's spokesperson, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, on Saturday, reminded the people that peace is crucial to any development in all the stages of human endeavours in this world.
Lawal congratulated the Muslims for witnessing yet another holy month, describing Ramadan as a sacred period for self-discipline, spiritual cleansing, and prayers.
The state APC chairman urged the Muslim community to maximize the blessings of the holy month by seeking divine intervention for the restoration of peace and good governance in Osun State, especially at a time when the state is grappling with various security and economic challenges.
In Lawal's words: "This is a crucial time in the life of our dear state. As we embark on this spiritual journey, I appeal to our Muslim brothers and sisters to use this holy month to pray fervently for peace, security, and progress in Osun State which manifestly needs divine intervention more than ever before," the state party chairman added.
Lawal noted further that the alarming state of insecurity, political tension and lack of visionary leadership in Osun State under the current PDP government requires collective spiritual efforts from both the religious community and well-meaning citizens to reverse the ugly trend.
He assured that despite the current situation in the state, the APC remains committed to standing by the people of the state while offering alternative solutions that will bring a lasting development and restore the confidence of the masses in governance.
While wishing all Muslims a successful fasting period, the APC chairman emphasized the importance of promoting love, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence among all residents, irrespective of political or religious differences
