Mrs. Sinatu Adeoye, through her legal representative Barrister Lekan Alabi, has issued a public warning against an alleged unlawful plan by certain individuals, led by Baale of Alare Iyiolu, to forcefully occupy and develop a parcel of land in Osogbo that is currently under judicial restriction.
According to the statement made available to the media in Osogbo, Mrs. Adeoye expressed deep concern over a renewed attempt by the Baale and his associates to raise funds to construct a hall on the disputed land situated beside Iyana Camp, Osogbo. This action, she emphasized, is in direct violation of two standing court rulings, which explicitly bar the Alare Iyiolu family from claiming ownership or commencing any form of development on the said property.
"The land in question is subject to ongoing legal proceedings and has twice been ruled upon by the court. Any attempt to forcefully possess or develop the land is a clear act of contempt and a breach of the law," said Barr. Lekan Alabi.
"The land being referred to as 'Alare Land' on which they are seeking to raise funds to build a hall does not officially exist under that name.
The matter is currently in court, and referring to it as 'Alare Land' constitutes contempt of court, as it goes against an existing court ruling. Legal proceedings are actively ongoing regarding this land, and it is therefore unlawful for anyone to label or treat it as 'Alare Land."
Mrs. Adeoye and her legal counsel urged members of the public to refrain from contributing to any fundraising campaign related to the illegal project.
“The court’s decision remains binding, and any individual found aiding or abetting this illegality may be held liable under the law,” Alabi stated.
They also cautioned prospective land buyers to avoid any dealings involving the disputed land, reiterating that the property is not legally transferable and is protected by court order.
In addition, the Adeoye family strongly advised the Baale of Alare Iyiolu to desist from drawing the revered Ataoja of Osogboland, His Royal Majesty Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun Larooye II, into the matter, stating that the royal institution should not be associated with any activity that contravenes existing court orders.
Barrister Alabi confirmed that law enforcement authorities have been briefed on the situation and investigations are ongoing to apprehend those attempting to subvert the judicial process.
