The recently published editorial titled “Ajibola Bashiru and the Cold Winds of Rejection in Osun APC” is a classic example of cowardly political propaganda, an orchestrated narrative funded by faceless individuals who have no stake in the progress or unity of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
These shadowy elements, hiding behind editorial pages and pseudonymous accounts, are not interested in constructive engagement or genuine party advancement. Instead, they aim to sow discord by peddling falsehoods and attacking a man whose service, loyalty, and contributions to the party are widely acknowledged, Senator Ajibola Basiru (SRJ).
No reasonable or responsible member of the APC would diminish the hard work, dedication, and intellectual depth of the party’s National Secretary. The suggestion that SRJ is losing relevance is not only laughable but also an insult to the collective reasoning of party leaders who have repeatedly entrusted him with national responsibilities.
To imply, even subtly, that he is being sidelined is to question the wisdom of those at the helm of our party’s affairs, leaders who understand competence when they see it, and who have continued to find in SRJ a reliable figure for strategic roles both within and beyond Osun State.
These faceless sponsors clearly do not represent the APC. Their actions betray an agenda rooted in mischief, not progress. They can shout from anonymous corners, but they cannot erase the respect SRJ commands among true party faithful.
Senator Bashiru remains a pillar within the Osun APC, respected not just for his political strength, but for his clarity of thought, commitment to service, and unwavering loyalty to the party. When the time comes, the people and the party will stand by substance, not slander.
