Governor Adeleke Presents Staff of Office to New Olojudo of Ido-Osun in Grand Coronation Ceremony


In a vibrant display of tradition, culture, and royal heritage, the Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, on Saturday, formally presented the Staff of Office to His Royal Majesty Oba Olayinka Oyetunde Ishola Jokola II, Ilufemiloye I, the newly installed Olojudo of Ido-Osun.

The momentous event took place in the ancient town of Ido-Osun and attracted an illustrious gathering of dignitaries from across the country, including eminent royal fathers, government officials, political leaders, and members of the traditional institutions.

Among the prominent attendees were the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Deputy Governor of Osun State, Prince Kola Adewusi, the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Wale Egbedun, the Ataoja of Osogbo, and the Timi of Edeland, among others. Their presence underscored the significance of the occasion and the enduring relevance of the traditional institution in contemporary governance and community development.

Governor Adeleke, in his keynote address, congratulated Oba Jokola II on his ascension to the throne, describing the Olojudo as a symbol of unity, wisdom, and progressive leadership. The Governor emphasized his administration's commitment to preserving the cultural heritage of Osun State while fostering harmonious relationships between government institutions and traditional rulers.

“This is not just a coronation; it is the reaffirmation of our shared history, a celebration of our rich cultural heritage, and a commitment to building a peaceful and prosperous Ido-Osun under the guidance of a visionary monarch,” the Governor stated.

His Royal Majesty Oba Jokola II expressed deep gratitude to the state government and the people of Ido-Osun for the trust reposed in him. He pledged to uphold the legacy of his forebears while working tirelessly for the growth, unity, and development of the community.

The event was marked by traditional rites, cultural displays, musical performances, and expressions of joy from the people of Ido-Osun, who turned out in large numbers to witness the historic ceremony.
