A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, has congratulated the newly nominated Managing Director of South West Development Commission, SWDC, Dr. Charles Akinola.
Basiru, who is also the national secretary of the APC, said he was thrilled by the appointment, adding that Akinola’s experience would greatly impacted the southwest and beyond.
“I am thrilled by the appointment of my brother, Dr. Charles Akinola over his appointment as Managing Director of the newly-created South West Development Commission. Dr. Akinola’s experience will, in no small way, help the commission as it seeks to be a model for other similar commission.
“Dr. Akinola’s appointment is one of those that sweetens the heart because a round peg is put in a round hole. I have had things to do with him in the past and I can confirm he is a development expert.
“I thank President Bola Tinubu for finding Dr. Charles Akinola worthy of this all-important assignment. I also congratulate the nominee and wish him a good tenure of office,” Basiru, who is chairman of the National Sugar Development Council, NSDC, added.
