Osun Amotekun Corps Commander, Omoyele Visits Akede Iyaloja Market, Osogbo, Receives Land donated for Amotekun Security Post.

In a significant move toward enhancing community safety and reinforcing grassroots security, the Corps Commander of the Osun Amotekun Corps, Chief (Dr.) Hon. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, on Saturday, May 31, 2025, paid a courtesy and inspection visit to the newly commissioned Akede Iyaloja Market in Osogbo.

The purpose of the visit was to assess the market sites premises and to give security advice, aimed at providing 24/7 protection to traders, customers, and residents in the area.

Chief Omoyele was warmly received by notable community and market leaders, including the representative of the Ataoja of Osogboland, Alhaji Chief Kamarudeen Yusuf Efe, the Chairman of the Osogbo Progressive Union (Home Branch), Alhaji Badmus Amelemero, the Iyaloja-designate, Chief Osunkemitan Oyeyemi Olalude, and the Otun Iyaloja-designate, Chief Adenike Adeyemi.

Delivering a message on behalf of His Royal Majesty, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun Larooye II, Ataoja of Osogboland, Alhaji Chief Kamarudeen Yusuf Efe lauded the Amotekun Commander’s unwavering commitment to community safety and the fight against criminal activities in Osun State. He commended Chief Omoyele’s professional track record, integrity, and leadership, describing him as a "man of the people" whose presence has significantly contributed to a safer Osogbo.

“The market community, in collaboration with the Ataoja-in-Council, believes in the capacity and credibility of Chief Omoyele and the Amotekun Corps to secure the lives and livelihoods of traders. This is why we deemed it necessary to provide land within the Akede Iyaloja Market for a permanent security post.”

In his response, Chief (Dr.) Hon. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele expressed his gratitude to the Ataoja of Osogboland and the market leadership for their generous and strategic gesture. He emphasized that the establishment of a security post within the market would not only deter criminal elements but also foster a conducive environment for economic activity to thrive.
