A NATION IN CAPTIVITY: Why Nigerians Must Rise Against APC’s Tyranny and Reclaim Their Future

In a democracy, the true power should reside with the people. Yet in today's Nigeria, we are confronted with a painful irony: a country where the ruling elite wields every instrument of power and still blames the people for its failures.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) controls the presidency, 23 state governments, the National Assembly with a majority in both the Senate and House of Representatives. It enjoys unfettered access to state institutions like the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Nigerian Police, the judiciary and commanding influence over critical national agencies like the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC), among others. The media is constantly under their manipulation, and labour unions have either been weakened or co-opted.

Yet, despite this overwhelming dominance, the APC has failed to deliver on the most basic promises of governance: food security, economic stability, healthcare, education, electricity, and above all, justice.

*What Do We, the Coalition, Have?*

We have no access to government-controlled platforms. We have no security architecture at our disposal. We have no budget running into trillions of naira. We don’t have media propaganda machines. We don’t control the banks or the oil wells.

*What we do have, however, is you and I — the Nigerian people*

We have the collective voice of those tired of hunger and poverty. We have the resilient spirit of market women, students, unemployed graduates, civil servants, artisans and farmers who are being crushed by the economic misrule of the APC. We have the power of unity, purpose, and truth on our side. We are the coalition of conscience and our greatest weapon is people power.

This is a Battle Between Light and Darkness. Between Hope and Despair. Between Freedom and Oppression.

The APC has failed. Nigerians are worse off than they were before. Every year under their watch, more people fall into poverty, more youths are unemployed, inflation skyrockets and insecurity worsens. The dignity of the Nigerian people is being eroded while a few continue to enrich themselves.

This is why we, as members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Osun State and across Nigeria, say: *ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!*

Let it be known that we are not afraid of their power. We do not bow to their institutions. We are not intimidated by their control. For we are the future. And we are coming, not with guns or gold, but with unity, courage and a burning desire to see Nigeria work for all, not for a privileged few.

We call on all patriotic Nigerians workers, students, activists, religious leaders, youth groups, market leaders, private sector actors, traditional institutions, the unemployed and the underemployed to join hands with us in reclaiming Nigeria from the shackles of Tinubu and the APC.

We may not have billions, but we have the numbers. We may not control agencies, but we have the anger of the oppressed. We may not own the system, but we are the soul of the nation.

Let us rise from village to village, street to street, state to state  and build a people's movement that will sweep away poverty, injustice, nepotism, corruption and hopelessness.

History has shown us that no matter how fortified a regime is, it cannot withstand the collective will of a united people.
