Amotekun and NSCDC Officers Swiftly Rescue Customs Operatives From Angry Mob in Inisa

A potentially tragic incident was averted in Inisa, Osun State, on Monday, thanks to the prompt and coordinated response of the Osun State Security Network "code named" Amotekun Corps, and officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

According to preliminary reports, a vehicle suspected to be transporting contraband goods from Ilorin was intercepted by officers of the Nigeria Customs Service. The Customs operatives, acting on intelligence, arrested the vehicle a commercial bus and commenced procedures to transport it, along with the seized goods, to Osogbo for further investigation and processing.

However, as the lead Customs officer attempted to move the impounded vehicle through Inisa, he was reportedly ambushed by an irate group of individuals, including thugs and some motorists. The mob, in a spontaneous show of hostility, began assaulting the officer and attempted to seize the vehicle and its contents.

Eyewitnesses and concerned citizens quickly raised an alarm, prompting immediate intervention by operatives of the Osun Amotekun Corps under the Odo-Otin Command. The officers, working in conjunction with the NSCDC, swiftly mobilized to the scene and successfully dispersed the assailants, ensuring the safety of the Customs officer and the recovery of the impounded vehicle without further incident.

Thanks to the timely action of these two security outfits, what could have escalated into a violent confrontation was peacefully resolved. No casualties were reported, and normalcy has since returned to the area.

The Commanders of both the Amotekun Corps and NSCDC in Osun State have been commended for their proactive synergy and professionalism in responding to the emergency. Security experts and community leaders have also praised the collaboration, highlighting it as a strong example of inter-agency cooperation that is essential to maintaining law and order across the state.

The Osun State Government reiterated its zero-tolerance policy on acts of lawlessness and emphasized its commitment to supporting all security agencies working to protect lives and property.
