The Nigerian community in Ireland has been thrown into mourning following the sudden passing of 30-year-old Lotanna, who collapsed while playing football in Limerick on Thursday, September 18.
Lotanna, described as a devoted father and fiancé, was the only son of his parents in Nigeria.
He is survived by his partner, Roisin, their young son LJ, and another child on the way.
Friends and loved ones have paid tributes, remembering him as a caring family man who was deeply passionate about football.
According to those close to him, Lotanna had looked forward to marrying Roisin next year and raising their children together.
In the wake of his death, a fundraiser has been created to support his fiancée and children, as well as to help repatriate his body to Nigeria for burial.
Part of the funds will also be used to assist his parents, who are devastated by the loss of their only son.
Over the weekend, the North Tipperary and District League observed a minute’s silence across all games in honour of Lotanna.
