Veteran broadcaster and actor Patrick Doyle has shared the heartbreaking news of the death of his newborn daughter, Omayinuwa Harriet.
Doyle had welcomed the baby with his third wife, Funmilayo, on Friday, initially announcing that both mother and child were in good health. However, in an update posted on Sunday, he disclosed that the infant passed away the following day, Saturday, at about 4:15 p.m.
Reflecting on the brief time they shared, Doyle described his daughter’s presence as a source of immense joy despite its short duration. He wrote that Omayinuwa was born around 10:40 a.m. on Friday, April 10, and “returned to heaven” on Saturday afternoon, noting that although the family wished for more time, they remain steadfast in their faith.
The 65-year-old actor married Funmilayo in 2025 after his divorce from actress Iretiola Doyle. Funmilayo is an entrepreneur and the owner of Funmidee Cuisines, a catering and private chef service business.
Doyle was previously married to his first wife, Rosamond Ndidi Doyle, who passed away in 1999 due to complications from sickle cell disease.
