The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has declared its readiness to reclaim power in the 2026 governorship election, while also expressing strong confidence in the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
This position was reiterated by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, during his recent visit to Osun State, where he held extensive engagements with key stakeholders.
As part of his visit, Oyetola met with the Osun 2026 Campaign Council led by Oluwole Oke, as well as members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (Osun Chapter) led by Sunday Akere, alongside civil society groups, community leaders, traditional rulers, and other prominent individuals across the state.
During the engagements, the Minister emphasized that the APC remains strong, united, and fully prepared to secure victory in the 2026 governorship election. He also highlighted the party’s candidate for the election, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), describing him as a capable and credible leader with the vision to drive development across the state.
He assured stakeholders that the dividends of democracy currently being enjoyed under the leadership of President Tinubu at the federal level would be significantly enhanced if the APC returns to power in Osun State.
Oyetola noted that stronger alignment between the state and the federal government would translate into increased development, improved infrastructure, and expanded economic opportunities for residents.
He also attended the final burial ceremony of business tycoon Tunde Ponle, where he paid his respects and commiserated with the family, describing the late entrepreneur as a notable contributor to local economic development.
The Minister further stressed the party’s commitment to inclusive governance and sustained grassroots mobilization, noting that the growing support from various groups across the state signals a positive outlook for the APC ahead of the elections.
The visit featured strategic consultations and interactive sessions aimed at strengthening party unity and expanding its support base in preparation for both the 2026 governorship election and President Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
