Police Arrest Suspects Over Gruesome Killing of Student in Delta State

Authorities in Delta State have arrested several young men in connection with the brutal killing of a female student in what is suspected to be a ritual-related crime.

According to statements allegedly made by one of the suspects, the victim was lured under the pretense of securing accommodation. A security guard is also implicated in the case, having reportedly helped facilitate contact between the victim and the perpetrators.

The suspect claimed he was approached by an associate, identified as Desmond, and another individual to provide a female student for ritual purposes. He stated that when the victim reached out to him in search of housing, he saw it as an opportunity and contacted the others to set the plan in motion.

On the agreed day, the victim was reportedly picked up in a vehicle. The suspect alleged that she was rendered unconscious shortly after entering the car. She was then taken to a remote location where the crime was carried out.

In a disturbing account, the suspect described how the victim was subjected to extreme violence before her death. He claimed she pleaded for her life, but the group continued the attack.

Law enforcement officials have not yet released full details of the investigation but confirmed that multiple suspects are in custody. The involvement of ritual practices, often associated with internet fraud schemes locally referred to as “Yahoo Yahoo,” is being probed.

The victim has since been buried, according to available information.

Police say investigations are ongoing and have urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.
