The serene environment of Fountain University came alive with glamour, honour and heartfelt tributes on Saturday as distinguished personalities from across Nigeria and beyond converged to celebrate the 80th birthday anniversary of renowned philanthropist, community leader and respected statesman, Asiwaju Khamis Tunde Badmus.
The occasion, which featured the official launch of a commemorative book in honour of the elder statesman, drew an impressive gathering of political leaders, traditional rulers, captains of industry, Islamic scholars, associates, family members and admirers who came together to celebrate a man widely acknowledged for his lifelong dedication to humanity, community development and nation-building.

The colourful event also witnessed the presence of several eminent dignitaries and highly revered traditional rulers from across the country. Among those in attendance was Africa’s richest man and foremost industrialist, Aliko Dangote, whose presence further underscored the significance of the occasion.
Also present were respected monarchs including, Ooni of Ife, HIM Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi CFR, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun, the Ataoja of Osogboland; Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, the Oluwo of Iwo; and Oba Abdulrasheed Olabomi, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, alongside the Olowu of Owu-Ile and representatives of the Sultan of Sokoto and the Emir of Ilorin Emirate Council.
