A major fire outbreak has engulfed a building in the Old Garage area of Osogbo, the Osun State capital, causing panic among residents and business owners in the vicinity.
According to eyewitness accounts and videos circulating on social media and obtained by Idealplusgist News, the fire broke out unexpectedly and rapidly spread through parts of the building before emergency responders and local residents began efforts to contain the blaze.
As of the time of filing this report, the exact cause of the fire remains unknown, while the full extent of the damage has yet to be determined.
Sources at the scene disclosed that two filling stations are located dangerously close to the affected building, raising concerns that the situation could worsen if the fire spreads to either facility.
Motorists and commuters have been advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes to allow unrestricted access for fire service vehicles and other emergency responders.
