Dr. Bode Olaonipekun Dismisses Defection Rumours, Reaffirms Unwavering Loyalty to APC and Commitment to Party's Electoral Success

The immediate past Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, Empowerment and Cooperatives in Osun State under the administration of former Governor Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, Dr. Bode Olaonipekun, has strongly refuted rumours circulating on social media alleging that he has defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to another political party.

Describing the claims as false, malicious, and the handiwork of mischief-makers bent on creating confusion within the political space, Dr. Olaonipekun stated unequivocally that he remains a loyal and committed member of the APC in Boluwaduro Local Government, Osun State, and Nigeria at large.

According to him, there is no truth whatsoever in the reports suggesting that he is considering leaving the APC for any other political platform. He emphasized that his allegiance to the party remains steadfast and unshaken.

"I wish to categorically state that I have not defected from the All Progressives Congress, nor do I have any intention of doing so. The rumours being circulated are completely false, misleading, and should be disregarded by members of the public and party faithful," he said.

Dr. Olaonipekun further reaffirmed his total commitment to the success of the APC in the forthcoming Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026. He pledged his continued support for the party's governorship candidate, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, and his running mate, Aree Benjamin Kayode Adereti, expressing confidence in their ability to lead Osun State towards greater development and prosperity.

The former commissioner also reiterated his unwavering support for the administration and re-election efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the APC remains the most viable platform for delivering democratic dividends to Nigerians.

He called on APC members, supporters, and the general public not to be distracted by unfounded reports and propaganda aimed at sowing discord within the party.

Dr. Olaonipekun urged party faithful to remain focused, united, and committed to the collective goal of ensuring decisive victories for the APC in forthcoming elections.

"The APC remains my political home, and I am fully dedicated to working with other stakeholders to strengthen our party and secure victory at all levels. I therefore appeal to our supporters and the people of Osun State to ignore these baseless rumours, as they are far from the truth," he concluded.
