A Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, former Commissioner for Commerce, industry, empowerments and Co-operative in Osun State, and Director General and National Coordinator Renewed Hope for the Elderly (RHE), Dr. Bode Olaonipekun, has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ajibola Basiru, following the passing of his beloved mother, Alhaja Sidikat Basiru Suuru.
In a condolence message issued on Monday, Dr. Olaonipekun described the death of the respected matriarch as a painful and irreparable loss not only to the Basiru family but also to the people of Osogbo and all who were privileged to know her.
He noted that the late Alhaja Sidikatu Basiru Suuru lived a fulfilled life marked by humility, compassion, integrity, and unwavering devotion to the service of God and humanity. According to him, her exemplary virtues and motherly guidance greatly contributed to raising children who have continued to make meaningful contributions to society, including the APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru.
Dr. Bode Olaonipekun prayed that Almighty Allah forgives the shortcomings of the deceased, grants her Aljanatul Firdaus, and gives Senator Ajibola Basiru, the entire Basiru family, and all loved ones the strength, patience, and fortitude to bear this painful loss.
He further urged the family to take solace in the remarkable legacy and good deeds left behind by the deceased, stressing that a life well lived remains a lasting source of comfort to those left behind.
"On behalf of my family and my associates, I extend my deepest sympathies to Senator Ajibola Basiru and the entire Basiru family. May Almighty Allah grant the departed eternal rest and continue to uphold the family during this difficult period," he stated.
