The Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) in Osun State, Dr. Oyelami Saliu, has applauded the efforts of the Osun Amotekun Corps for their unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
Dr. Saliu made this commendation while speaking with journalists during a media parley organized by the Osun Online Publishers Association. He described the security outfit as a dedicated corps whose sacrifices and commitment have contributed significantly to the peace, security, and tranquility currently being enjoyed in Osun State.
According to him, officers and personnel of the Osun Amotekun Corps continue to put their lives on the line and sacrifice valuable time in the service of humanity, ensuring that residents can go about their daily activities without fear.
"Osun Amotekun Corps has demonstrated remarkable dedication in safeguarding communities and maintaining peace across the state. Their contributions to security and public safety deserve recognition and appreciation from all well-meaning citizens," Dr. Saliu stated.
The PRP governorship flag bearer noted that rather than being subjected to unnecessary criticism and political attacks by some individuals, the corps should be commended and encouraged to continue their patriotic service to the people.
He emphasized that security remains a critical pillar for development, stressing that no society can achieve meaningful progress without a peaceful and secure environment.
Speaking on his vision for Osun State ahead of the governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026, Dr. Saliu assured residents that his administration would prioritize good governance, transparency, and people-oriented policies if elected.
He outlined Education, Agriculture, and Economic Development as the three major sectors that would receive immediate attention under his administration.
Dr. Saliu explained that his education agenda would focus on improving the quality of teaching and learning, enhancing educational infrastructure, and creating opportunities that would prepare young people for the future.
On agriculture, he pledged to introduce policies and programs aimed at empowering farmers, increasing food production, creating employment opportunities, and strengthening the state's agricultural value chain.
The PRP candidate further stated that boosting the economy would remain a top priority, with plans to attract investments, support small and medium-scale enterprises, create jobs, and improve the overall standard of living of residents across the state.
He called on the people of Osun State to remain committed to peace and unity while supporting credible leadership capable of delivering sustainable development and prosperity for all.
Dr. Saliu reiterated his determination to provide purposeful leadership and ensure that the dividends of democracy reach every corner of Osun State if given the mandate by the electorate in the forthcoming governorship election.
