The Ataoja of Osogboland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun Larooye II, has expressed profound appreciation to all dignitaries, traditional rulers, political leaders, market executives, security agencies, and well-wishers who attended the burial ceremony of the late Pa Adeleke Oduola, held at the Technical College, Osogbo, on Saturday, June 20, 2026.
In a statement released to newsmen in Osogbo on Sunday through the Otun Babaloja of Sasa Market, Osogbo, and the Ataoja’s representative across markets in Osogboland, Alhaji Chief Kamarudeen Yusuf Efe, the revered monarch described the massive turnout of eminent personalities as a demonstration of love, respect, and solidarity with the family of the deceased and the people of Osogboland.
Oba Larooye II particularly applauded the presence of the Executive Governor of Osun State, Asiwaju Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, whose attendance added great significance to the event.
The monarch also acknowledged and appreciated the presence of Yeye Dupe Adeleke-Sanni, elder sister of the Governor; the Secretary to the State Government, High Chief Teslim Igbalaye; members of the Osun State Executive Council; and other top government functionaries who graced the occasion.
The Ataoja further extended his gratitude to the Executive Director, Marine and Operations of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Engr. Olalekan Abdulrahman Badmus, FNSE, and members of his entourage for identifying with the family during the solemn occasion.
He also commended the attendance of respected political leaders, including Alhaji Tajudeen Oladipo and former Governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, whose presence reflected the high regard in which the late Pa Adeleke Oduola was held.
The foremost traditional ruler equally appreciated all royal fathers from within and outside Osun State who honoured the invitation, noting that their presence underscored the unity and strength of the traditional institution in Yorubaland.
Special recognition was also given to the various Iyalojas, Babalojas, Iyalodes, members of the Ataoja-in-Council, community leaders, Osogbo Head of Princes, religious leaders, security agencies, and numerous distinguished guests whose attendance contributed immensely to the success of the burial ceremony.
According to the monarch, the overwhelming support and goodwill demonstrated by attendees provided comfort to the bereaved family and served as a fitting tribute to the life, legacy, and contributions of the late Pa Adeleke Oduola to the development of Osogboland and society at large.
Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun Larooye II prayed for divine blessings, good health, and continued success for all those who honoured the occasion despite their demanding schedules. He also prayed that the Almighty God grants the soul of the departed eternal rest and gives the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
