In a remarkable demonstration of compassion and commitment to the welfare of his people, the Ataoja of Osogboland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun Larooye II, has facilitated the distribution of financial assistance to victims affected by the devastating rainstorm that struck parts of Osogbo in March 2026.
The financial support, amounting to ₦1 million, was generously donated by the Babalaje of Osogboland, Chief Kasali Opabola, following the intervention and facilitation of the Ataoja of Osogboland.
The initiative is aimed at providing relief to residents whose homes and properties were damaged by the natural disaster.
To ensure transparency and fairness in the distribution process, the Ataoja constituted the Osogbo Rainstorm Relief Committee, chaired by the Asiwaju of Osogboland, retired Justice Moshud Adekunle Adeigbe, to oversee the disbursement of the funds to the affected beneficiaries.
The financial assistance was presented on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, to five verified victims of the March 2026 rainstorm. The beneficiaries are:

Speaking during the presentation ceremony, the Chairman of the Osogbo Rainstorm Relief Committee, retired Justice Moshud Adekunle Adeigbe, commended the Ataoja of Osogboland for his unwavering love, compassion, and dedication to the wellbeing of the people of Osogbo.
He noted that the royal father's timely intervention and leadership made it possible to secure the financial donation through Chief Kasali Opabola, describing the Babalaje as a worthy son of Osogboland whose generosity has brought hope and relief to families recovering from the effects of the disaster.
Justice Adeigbe also expressed profound appreciation to Chief Kasali Opabola for his humanitarian gesture, emphasizing that the donation reflects his enduring commitment to community development and support for vulnerable residents.
He advised the beneficiaries to utilize the financial assistance judiciously and for the intended purpose of rebuilding their lives and addressing the challenges occasioned by the rainstorm.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, the recipients expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Ataoja of Osogboland, His Royal Majesty Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun Larooye II, for facilitating the intervention.
